GIVING YOUR SOUL A RELIEF
I was born and raised in the city of Jakarta, but what I can see from that city are pollution and traffic jam. There are some artificial parks inside the city, of course, but they aren't easily accessible by public transportation especially for ones who live far from the Central or South Jakarta. Jogging Park in Kelapa Gading is not bad, but it's too small to contain even 5% of people living in Kelapa Gading.
It is different in Taipei. You can see many parks where you can meet people practicing musical instrument at days and nights, kids learning how to ride a bike, old men and women hanging out with their not-so-grandchild (a dog). In the capital city like Taipei, where all the governmental stuffs are basically held, I'm surprised there lies many larger parks inside where you can do picnic every day!
I'm starting to think that having a green area in the city is a human need. People need fresh air, a place to either relax or getting away. Thanks to Taipei, at least I can live the way Taiwanese live even only for a year.
From today I learn the secret of enjoying life, doing your hardest work in a way you enjoy life at its best. I like being alone, taking some times away from people, contemplating what I've done and what's to be done, embracing grace given from the Greatest God. I like photography, where you can capture your memories through the lens and sharing it to people to show how beautiful life is. I had a homework to memorize some Chinese vocabularies but it's just boring if I always do it in front of my desk. Three hours before the class at 6 PM, I decided to go to Tamsui River, easily accessible only by a 10 minutes walking from my university, or taking a bus.
God is everywhere, even in our room. But without going somewhere you cannot get His hidayah (هداية) or guidance. When you're with some friends of yours you merely contemplate because you're busy talking to each other, but when you're alone, you give your soul a relief. You contemplate how this and that exists, and then suddenly your iman (إِيمَان) or faith increases.
What I mostly like about being alone at Taiwan's park is people also do what you do! I don't feel like a loner because there are many people going alone to study, to read, to relax, to bike, to photograph, to breath, or even only to sit. You're not going to feel awkward about yourself.
Thank Allah for always giving me time to embrace Your works. The more I see the world's beauty, the more love I feel toward You. You've been giving people Your grace without seeing who we are, how sinful or good we are. And I always pray You keep giving me Your grace and mercy along my path.
